About Aloha Medicinals
Aloha Medicinals began in 1999 on the island of Maui, where a group of scientists and health experts came together with a shared vision: to grow the highest quality medicinal mushrooms, including Reishi and Cordyceps, to support holistic health. From our first lab in Haiku, we focused on cultivating organic, potent mushrooms, quickly meeting growing customer demand. By 2002, we moved to Santa Cruz, California, where we acquired the prestigious Sunrise Spawn Company, which had been founded as Stoller Research Laboratory in 1955 by Dr. Benjamin “Doc” Stoller, a pioneer in mushroom cultivation.
Inheriting decades of groundbreaking research, including detailed lab notebooks from Doc Stoller himself, we gained invaluable insights into mushroom cultivation that have driven our innovations. This wealth of knowledge enabled Aloha Medicinals to rise as a leader in the functional mushroom industry, pioneering advances in cultivation and product development. To meet escalating demand, we relocated our operations in 2007 to Carson City, Nevada, where our state-of-the-art facility sits at 5,000 feet at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
